To be honest, I feel a little silly posting this recipe. Mostly because it’s so simple and I don’t really think of it as a “recipe.” But, every time I make my guacamole, people always ask for the recipe. I chuckle and tell them how easy it is and they’re always surprised. It’s just 4 easy ingredients and can just as easily be made as a personal serving or in a big batch to feed a crowd.
Once you make this guacamole, you’ll see how easy and delicious it is and never go back to the store bought stuff again.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup salsa of your choice (I HIGHLY suggest making this recipe, its so delicious and east to make!)
- 3 large really ripe avocados
- juice from ½ of a small lime (about 1-2 tsp)
- pinch of salt
Directions:
Scoop out avocado flesh and mash to desired consistency with a fork. I like to make a more smooth guacamole if I’m serving it as a dip, but I keep it chunky if it’s part of a dish (like these burritos). Once avocados are mashed to your liking, stir in the salsa, lime and salt. The key to this recipe is to taste as you go and adjust salt and lime to your liking. I usually stick with these amounts but depending on the taste/ripeness of the avocados determines how much salt and lime I use.
Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.*
There ya go, so easy, so tasty. I hope you enjoy 🙂
* If you’re eating the guac later, cover with plastic wrap so it touches the guacamole to keeps it looking green 🙂
